2015 Resolutions and 2014 Wrap Up! Happy NYE!
Another year has passed, and I can't believe how quickly! 2014 has been a brilliant year for me, and I'd like to share with you all my successes of the year and look back at my resolutions I made last year for 2014. As I write this, it's New Year's Eve and I'm ill after catching one of those weird colds where you get all hot and cold and shivery, but alas, the show must go on, and I'm heading out to Alex's this evening for celebrations. Let's look at my resolutions!
2014 Resolutions:
1. Be more positive! I try to think positively but I always feel we drag ourselves down. Time to smile and look ahead.
-I think I managed this one, I mean I know everyone has their down days and I know I certainly do, but I've really done so much better with positive thinking this year and I've achieved a lot of good things! :D
2. Be healthier (typical I know) - gym and healthier food I think.
-I have seriously failed this one, I went to the gym for a bit last new year and I started doing Pilates, but I still eat a serious amount of sweets, and stuff!
3. Grow out my hair - I've vowed not to cut it for the entire of 2014!! I'll let you know how growing out an asymmetric cut goes.
-Failed, but now I have nice short brown hair so I'm happy!
4. Blog more (this one speaks for itself).
-Failed! But I can always have another go, eh?
5. Go to university!
-A serious success! I'm so happy I got the opportunity to go to Chichester University this year, and make friends and write ethics essays and study Victorian Literature... It's the best.
2015 Resolutions:
1.Save money! (I want to stop buying clothes so much, even if it is in charity shops)
2. Go abroad - preferably to Sweden or Germany.
3. More exercise! I'd love to start running or long distance walking.
4. Get a First in my first year of University (I'm on track for that, better work hard!)
5. Blog more (and this time continue with it).
My favourite photo of the year! It was on my first day of University and taken by my boyfriend.
Thanks for reading! What are your New Year's Resolutions? Take care in 2015.
God bless,

The Most Wonderful Time
Last night was the coldest night recorded this year in the Channel Islands and I thought it'd be a good idea to dress the part! It's not often particularly chilly in Guernsey, but I really found it to be so today, so I decided to throw on my Peter Storm (men's, via charity shop) roll neck sweater (I've really been loving this neckline recently and there's quite a few to be found second-hand). I also wore my new Miss Selfridge jeans I got in the sale and my vintage (via The Dressing Up Box where I work) pixie boots. They're three colours and really soft! Today I was going off charity shopping with my gran and her friend (photos down the post).
I also got a new septum ring on saturday and I really love the look of it! I'm also wearing Nars Velvet Matte lip pencil in Red Square.
Winchester Vintage Market is where I found this coat many a year ago, and Chichester has a similar (but inside) vintage market, so hopefully I'll get to take some photos there. My beanie was a Christmas present!
I loved these slippers!
I almost bought this suit, but it was a little too large in the shoulders and waist! So Clueless though, right? I only picked up a bag though for university, and that shall be appearing in my next charity shop haul on my Youtube channel, Louise Vivian.
I hope everyone is having a lovely time after Christmas and before New Year. What are your plans for New Year? I'm going to Alex's house, and we'll eat food and play games with his family!
Thanks for reading. God bless!

Christmas Day OOTD
Merry Christmas one and all! This is a totally unplanned and unexpected post, as I wasn't planning on blogging today, but I was really pleased with some of my Christmas presents (which were clothes and make up) so I wanted to do an outfit post. I'm so happy with, firstly, the lip pencil I was given which is Nars Velvet Matte in Red Square - it's a perfect orangey red and a really great formula which hardly transfers.
So far today I have opened presents (including a mini sewing machine from my brother and a cute dog coin purse from my sister, as well as a variety of clothing and make up items from my parents). I also have been to church, and Alex (the boyf) gave me the collected works of Oscar Wilde, which I'll be working my way through in the coming year!
I was super happy with my outfit today - two of the items being Christmas presents - the Topshop green roll neck jumper and white shirt, also from Topshop. I think they make a really good pairing. My trousers are a find in the charity shop I work at, called The Dressing Up Box (I've been planning to do a post about there for ages, and I hope to finally get around to it in the New Year!) They're vintage gingham high-waisted trousers, to which I added a vintage dark green belt to match the jumper. Finally the shoes are from New Look ages ago and I rarely wear them since they cut my ankle so much! (But I think they match this outfit perfectly!)
Feel free to check out some other photos of my Christmas on my Instagram at louiseyviv and hype some of my looks on my LookBook here.
What are you guys getting up to this Christmas? And I'd love to know your thoughts on my outfit and the Nars Velvet Matte lip pencils! Let me know! Merry Christmas <3
God bless!

An Overdecorated Christmas and Update
As I write this it is only 3.5 hours until it is officially Christmas, and I couldn't be more excited! I have a lot of news to write about here but I thought I'd show my Christmas decorations at home first, and perhaps as the title says, it is an overdecorated Christmas we have in the Vivian household. I secondly would like to wish everyone a very merry Christmas and thirdly let everyone know I plan to be a proper and regular (perhaps weekly or fortnightly) blogger this coming year, rather than just posting a great deal one month and then hearing nothing from me for weeks! I will be having some vintage adventures in Chichester, where I'm attending University, and further-a-field as well as doing some charity shop styling. However I don't want my content to be lacking as it previously has been - sometimes I posted for the sake of posting, rather than because I had something interesting to say.

My sister and I decorated the Christmas tree - our idea of decorating is more like throwing armfuls of tinsel at the tree and adorning it with every bauble in the house! But I love our overdecorated Christmas tree!

Chichester has been great this semester and I'm doing pretty well in my studies (Theology and English Literature), and really enjoying the course! Chichester has some lovely vintage shops and recently I went to a vintage market and bought some vintage dungarees as well as a shirt for a pretty decent price. My favourite (though it is rather expensive) vintage shop in Chi (as the students call it) is called the One Legged Jockey, and I found some great pieces there. The charity shops are more expensive than Guernsey ones, however they have some awesome pieces - a pair of sparkly Betty Barclay jeans and a Topshop oversized shirt.
I came home on the 13th December with my boyfriend, Alex, who I've been with for a year and four months and it's great to be home, but I do miss the independence of being at University. I actually did a Uni Room Tour on my Youtube Channel which you can view here and a vlog or two. I should be doing a few more vlogs in the New Year in Chi but I left my camera at Uni, so none for now (these photos are taken on my Dad's Nikon D7000)
Christmas is a great family time and we now have a new member of the family featured at the end of this post...
My sister and I decorated the Christmas tree - our idea of decorating is more like throwing armfuls of tinsel at the tree and adorning it with every bauble in the house! But I love our overdecorated Christmas tree!
I love our Grandfather clock in our dining room, it's an antique we bought from a neighbour when they were clearing out their house. It doesn't work, but it's still absolutely beautiful.
My mother looks slightly sinister in this picture, but she's lovely really, and very busy cooking for the big day tomorrow!
This is Ruby, the Vivian's little black and white Shih Tzu puppy, she's lovely but very mischievious and loves to steal Christmas presents from under the tree and chew shoelaces.
In other news, I now have a septum piercing and brown hair! Who'd have thought it?? Alex is not too pleased with the piercing but I think he's pretty pleased with the natural hair colour. I'll be doing my New Year's round up for my next post so look forward to that.
Also I have a new name for my blog for the New Year - Fashion Museum, as my style is mostly vintage and my general style is from the past, as Alex would say! I'm still working on the look of the blog, but I hope you will like the finished look. I'm thinking white and grey... Anyway!
I hope you have a wondeful, happy and peaceful Christmas! God bless!
