My 2014 resolutions! And New Year Round-Up

Happy nearly 2014 everyone!!! What are your new year's resolutions? Here are mine and let's take a look at how last year's resolutions turned out~

Last year's:
1. Keep blogging
Well this one was kinda up and down, due to complications with internet access and general lack of motivation but I'm still blogging and though this blog has had a make-over, it still exists! No one reads it though....
2. Create a wardrobe
I'm actually really happy with this one. I love my current wardrobe and though there are certain things I wish I could add, I'm pretty content - see my wardrobe transition post here. I'll be sorting out my wardrobe and posting some of my favourite pieces very soon (the new year is looking hopeful!)
3. Velvet pieces
Oh my, have I done this! I've bought  dresses, tops and a skirt in velvet and I'm still desperately in love with this trend.
4. Take some risks!
Green hair, bright glasses, neon jeans and furry coats - I've succeeded in this too. Here find my favourite post with my craziest fashion (and purple hair!)
5. Get contacts
I haven't done this one yet, but maybe this year...
6. Read fashion magazines other than Company.
I haven't quite managed this one, though I did buy a copy of Nylon once!

This year's:
1. Be more positive! I try to think positively but I always feel we drag ourselves down. Time to smile and look ahead :D
2. Be healthier (typical I know) - gym and healthier food I think.
3. Grow out my hair - I've vowed not to cut it for the entire of 2014!! I'll let you know how growing out an asymmetric cut goes.
4. Blog more (this one speaks for itself).
5. Go to university!

Now~ here's my favourite photo from this year:

Thanks for your support this year and though there are few of you, I hope you have a wonderful new year and your resolutions pan out well.

Thanks~

What is the WIFI password?

Morning all! I had a fabulous Christmas and I hope yours was lovely~

So for Christmas I got this awesome jumper and I just had to show it off. I hope you enjoy and please find some Christmas photos at the end of this post. It's from a website called Zazzle which offers customizable clothing and accessories! I'm not affiliated but it really interested me and I just love this slogan. I feel like I can go up to someone somewhere, point at my jumper and know all I need to know (I'm such an internet addict!). I also got the silver Vans for Christmas and they're totally my favourite present - they look kinda space-age to me... hehe

So what exactly is the WIFI password...?

Jumper: Zazzle
Jeans: Miss Selfridge
Shoes: Vans

My dresser all decorated with holly and little birds~

All decked out for Christmas dinner!

I hope you all had a lovely festive time and I'm off for now.

Thanks for reading,

Style Icon: Duckie

Morning all! Merry Christmas Eve! As a sort of Christmas treat I thought I'd show you my ultimate style icon  for this year: Duckie from 'Pretty in Pink' (an 80s John Hughes film). He's kooky, fashionable and sweet - the perfect mix and pretty much my dream guy (if he wasn't desperately in love with Andy, and I didn't have a boyfriend.)

The film shows the divide between rich and poor and how love can bridge the gap, and is a total 80s classic. Romance, conflict and friendship reigns and I thoroughly enjoyed it! Check it out (I'm sure you can find it in HMV or on Netflix).

On to Duckie-inspired outfit~
Crucial: hat, rolled up sleeves and duck feet!

Jacket: Vintage via One Legged Jockey (shop in Chichester - very awesome!)
Shirt: charity shop
Cords: Dorothy Perkins (customized with patch)
Bowler hat: New Look
Shoes: vintage via charity shop
Duck feet!

According to my jacket, I'm a member of the German border police (no... it's not Nazi-related).

I based the outfit on Duckie's school army-jacket ensemble! How close did I get? (Aside from the gender difference and lack of sunglasses and waistcoat?) He's epic, isn't he?

Thanks for reading and Merry Christmas!! Look forward to a post either boxing day or the day after.

Morning all! Merry nearly Christmas! I recently went to Southampton and these were the items I wanted to find, or had in mind to find something similar to, and I found some. (Look forward to seeing them in future outfit posts) But this was my wishlist for December and Christmas - as you can see I'm a little shoe-crazy this month.

1. Ironic tee - Topshop
2. Galaxy cat tee - eBay
3. Molly t-bar geek shoes - Topshop
4. Silver Vans
5. Black platform trainers - Topshop

Topshop is an ultimate favourite for December it seems. What's on your wishlist this month?

A Homemade Christmas Jumper - 3 ways!

Merry Christmas Eve-Eve everyone! And here: a homemade Christmas jumper (that festive must have) 3 ways - one very casual, one slightly more day-out sorta themed and one rather more party-worthy!

Firstly, my blog is nearly a year old and it has had barely any attention since the summer, which I would like to apologise for. Life gets in the way, eh? But I will try harder to get on with some more posts over the festive season, and in the new year.

What's new with me? I'm getting a new tattoo on the 3rd January and I'm still doing A Levels and such. Please wait for pictures~ Anyway, on with the post.

Jumper: knitted by my mother
Shoes: Nike
Jeans: Miss Selfridge
Necklace: vintage via ASOS marketplace

Jacket: Vintage via charity shop
Socks: unknown
Shoes: converse
Skirt: Atmosphere via eBay

Rings: Accessorize
Tights: unknown
Dress: Miss Selfridge (sale - only a tenner!!)

Shoes: Topshop

Many thanks to my wonderful father for the photography. Isn't he adorable?

Christmas is a lovely time, don't you agree? What are your Christmas jumpers like? Have you knitted your own you crafty people?

And yes: my hair is slightly green and I have a collar bone tattoo (both purposeful!) My hair was a lot greener before but it's faded greatly.

Thanks for reading! :D

I'm an Eggplant!

Good night all! Yep, I'm up. Yep, it's 2.24am. Burning the midnight oil, that's for sure. So enjoy my random purple-hair-denim-jacket-oooh-those-are-bright-jeans extravaganza! I went to town with my dear friends Elle and Beth today and we took some photos (well, Elle did and I posed stupidly). An excellent day all in all, with Costa (which I didn't even have to pay for) and a good old girly chat.

I really love this old Wrangler jacket and the jeans may be bright but I am totally in love with them still, I think they've featured before on this blog.

Anyway, on to the pictures~

AHOY!

Purple hair, and labret!

Jacket: Wrangler via charity shop
Jeans: Stinky Fish in Winchester
Shirt: charity shop
Socks & shoes: Topshop

Take care,

Le Tattouage

Good evening all! And welcome to another (fabulous) episode of... Oh, it's just me... And I joke, my dears, I joke - I know I'm not (that) fabulous! So, this dress is another charity shop find, and it cost me a mere £8.99, though it would have been roughly £70 brand new! Bargain! I paired it with my gold Casio and my tattoos (though they're in every outfit!) I'm actually thinking about getting another tattoo very soon, possibly some text, or a teapot.

Life is still good and let's hope the weather holds up so I can continue to take outfit photos. Also in other news, I have just joined whatiwear and if you'd like to check out my profile, I'll leave the link at the bottom of this post.

Also, more news: I was baptised recently, and I am currently applying to study theology (and creative writing) at university, and also trying my luck getting into Bible college - the London School of Theology! Wish me luck!

On to the outfit~

Dress: Iron Fist (via charity shop)
Watch: vintage Casio (via ASOS Marketplace)

Lipstick: Alarm by Rimmel

Jaeger Tuesday

Good evening all!

I'm very sorry for my long hiatus, I got out of hospital in August, and now I'd say I'm fully recovered. I've been referred back to my GP and things are on the up, so here's an outfit post for you all~

Jacket: Vintage Jaeger
Shirt: Vintage Paul Smith
Jeans: Vintage Levi's
Shoes: charity shop

I picked up this jacket in a charity shop as part of a suit for £7.50 (I was very pleased as you can imagine!) and the jeans and shirt are from the charity shop I work at, which may feature in a post very soon... Watch out for that. The shoes are fairly impossible to walk in, but I do love them and I'm actually very much in love with this clock shirt - who doesn't adore Paul Smith?

Life's been good recently - I'm back at school and though I have a lot of work, I feel I'm ready to get back into blogging. I hope you'll look forward to my posts and I'll see you soon!

Take care,
Louise <3

My 2nd Disappearing Act!

Though there are (very) few of you, I thought I'd give some explanation for my recent absence. My health has taken a turn for the worse, and I have been hospitalized, though I hope to be discharged soon. I had to travel from my beautiful little home to the UK for treatment, and despite the inconvenience and chaos, there are and will be many opportunities for fashion exploration. Unfortunately I am unable to take any photos (hospital rules) so no outfit posts will be coming up in the near future, but we shall see! (There is hope!)

In terms of fashion news, I've been exploring my love for baggy jumpers, cropped trousers and converse. Also I've had a jaunt to the charity shops in the local area and found a few good pieces (one of which will definitely be starring in a 'how to' styling post soon) and I made my first Topshop order. That was probably one of the best things about being in the UK - Topshop don't ship to my island (the fiends!), you see. I shall be styling that up too in the near future. I also had a radical haircut back to asymmetric-ness, and that will (obviously) have to be in a post soon.

Anyway, please bear with me! This blog has not been forgotten.

Take care,

Louise <3

The Big Wardrobe Transition

It's time.

I know I've mentioned this and I got back into Lolita... But I was addicted to J-Fashion (for those who don't know, that means Japanese fashion) and I wore a street fashion called Lolita that originated in Japan and became popular in the 1990s (as you know). Towards the end of 2012 I realised that the Loli-life wasn't for me; and after spending countless hours (and about two grand) on the fashion, I decided to sell it all. But a few months later I got back into it and finally I'm completely over it. It's not that I don't love Lolita (I've kept a dress and a salopette that I couldn't bear to sell, though I did sell all the others), but I hardly wore it (even the second time) and felt someone else could give them a better home (God, it's like we're talking about a puppy or something - I'm so sentimental and silly!).

Since selling my Lolita stuff, I've been building a new wardrobe, and this is my before and after!
I've separated most of my wardrobe into two sections: dresses, skirts and some trousers in the actual wardrobe and tops, jackets and jumpers on my clothes rail. Also tights are in an organiser in the wardrobe and shoes under my rail and in organizers. Finally my small collection of jewelry is on a DIY organizer and my scarfs in a shoebox.

Before:

After:

There we have it! My wardrobe transition!

I hope you enjoyed seeing my new non-Lolita set up and I apologise for the lighting in some shots, it's evening here at the moment and the lolita photos were taken a long time ago.

Take care,
Louise <3
