Stuck at home during LFW?

Yes, I know that London Fashion Week was last week, but this applies for any fashion week in any country. Ever find yourself strapped for cash (or out of time) so can't make the journey to fashion week? Or perhaps you live in an isolated place, such as Guernsey (where I reside for the whole year, bar the occasional trip to Sark or Herm, which are the islands just off Guernsey) and you can't really go to the events? Well, I am one of these sad (and oh so sorrowful) people who couldn't attend anything to do with LFW! So I'll let you know what I've been doing instead and who I've been living vicariously through to get a little bit of the action (that sounds a bit wrong - my apologies). So~

Things to do while NOT at London Fashion Week:

1. Take a look around the World Wide Web and have a look at the LFW inspired items available (after all, think of all the money we've saved by not going, don't want it to burn a hole in your pocket, now do we?)
2. Get inspired! Perhaps Lookbook would be a good place to start or if you prefer, just take a look at the various fashion photos on Tumblr (I like your shoelaces).
3. Re-organize your wardrobe or clothes-storing-equipment (haha, isn't that just a fancy phrase for wardrobe, oh well).

Or perhaps you would like to try something new for the upcoming Spring season and to really get in the S/S spirit?
I recently undertook two DIY projects~

Creating an acid-wash effect on a denim jacket using bleach:
It's super simple:
1. Fill a washing up bowl or basin with warm water.
2. Add 1 cup of bleach (or a little more if you'd like).
3. Scrunch up your jacket and submerge it in the bleach water and leave it there for about an hour.
4. Check every half hour to hour to see how much the bleach has worked and decide how bleached you would like your jacket to be.
5. When it's ready to be removed from the bleach water, rinse in thoroughly in cold running water and leave it to soak in a basin of cold water overnight.
6. Allow the jacket to dry after removing it from the cold water, and voila~ One acid wash jacket!

How to rip jeans!
Also very simple:
1. Decide where you like the rips and place a wooden block in the leg of the jeans under where you will be making a rip.
2. Use rough sandpaper to create the rips. Rub the sandpaper up and down and right to left until you have the rips you want!

See, tres facile mes amis *winks*

If you want to hear about LFW or other fashion weeks, there are websites available, just simply type the certain fashion week into your search engine and browse to your heart's content. However it's always good to hear from other bloggers, some of my favourites are Lily Pebbles (mostly a beauty blogger but fashion also) and Monica Barleycorn (an awesome fashion blogger).

Of course you can always do a nice homely activity, such as:
Baking, cleaning, reading (fashion or gossip, whatever floats your boat, cats?) magazines or a good book.

Have fun at home and I hope this post was helpful! Maybe I'll go to A/W fashion week, who knows.

Also I'm very sorry posts have been more infrequent recently, I'm doing the best I can at the moment with school and personal problems and such! Bear with, bear with (do you watch Miranda? haha)

Take care,
Louise <3

Acid Wash & Leopard Print

Bon soir mes petites amis (assuming you're all girls, although welcome boys, make yourself at home!)

I have had rather a busy week with exams approaching and feeling rather unwell, yet the show must go on so I have another outfit post for you, I promise something on LFW A/W very soon. I so wished I could go, but school and living on a tiny island in the middle of nowhere (well, the English Channel) prevented me from doing so. Anyway, on to the outfit~

Back view - I think this is a first on this blog! Shock, horror! I kid, but seriously I never do back shots.

Hands on hips, check out those pins.

Mid shot

Shoesssss~

Final shot!

I am in love with these jeans even though they make me look like I just ate three tons of pork pies with lashings of calorific chocolate sauce! I got them last year at an alternative shop in Winchester (my favourite town) and the shoes are Docs and I got them from Cloggs. I acid washed the jacket, which I found in a charity shop (or I bleached it at least, is there a difference??) Also the jumper is from New Look (quel surprise!)

Sorry this one is a short one guys!

Do you have an outrageous pair of jeans (super bright or crazy printed)? Would you wear neon pink Docs?

Take care,
Louise <3

Pastel Dream

Just a quick outfit post~ My life is getting more and more complicated by personal problems but I will try my best to keep posting and providing (allegedly) fun stuff for you to read.

Side smile *winks*

Casual hands on hips!

The typical skirt holding shot.

Let's have a good ol' look at those tights!

Yet another full shot, bored yet?

Mid shot - is it a cat or a mouse? I'm still unsure...

The blazer you have seen before in Suit Up and I still love it (pastel and fitted - c'est parfait!) and the necklace too. The jumper is from New Look and as is the necklace. The skirt part is actually part of a dress from Yumi (found in a shopping centre somewhere in Tunbridge Wells). And for my favourite part - the tattoo tights are from the Japanese brand Grimoire (really on trend in Harajuku at the moment). They're very delicate but I love them (even if I am super paranoid about laddering them!). Finally, the shoes are also from New Look but are falling to pieces (I'll have to replace them pretty soon).

Have you ever come across tattoo tights? Is the jumper creature a mouse or a cat? (I could really use your opinion!)

Take care,
Louise <3

Nothing but the feet!

So I'm playing on words in the title - I really like David Guetta, okay? If you get it, you're super cool in my books *winks*. And I'm really sorry that I've kinda been neglecting my blog recently, I've not been well and school is keeping me busy, but I have far more free time now exams and coursework are out of the way (thank the Lord!). Look forward to more blog posts!

So I'm a little obsessed with shoes - in my younger pre-teen years it was Converse. I had a brown pair (not the most attractive, but they were double-tongued so I can be forgiven), a coral pair, a ladybird pair and more recently a fur-lined pair and the Wonder Woman model! My shoe collection now is very varied with a few boots, some heels (there'll be a post on that in the future, about my first pair of heels) and a pair of Docs and also (of course) my dear creepers.

I wrote a post on shoes and my love for them here~ But let's check out some shoe looks that incorporate my various styles, with different tights and socks. Let's take a look!

Here are my beloved Dr Martens (though they rub like demons from Hell). I got them for Christmas a couple of years back and the hot pink colour does make them hard to wear, but I think they clash (in a good way) with the green jeans and make the look really eye-catching. I think most of the websites that stock Dr Martens stock these!

And these are my vintage Italian leather boots found in the charity shop I work at (I will be doing a post on that in the future too so look out for that) and some yellow tights. I think this look is just really quite retro and unique - I've never seen another pair of boots like these.

Here's a little bit of J-fashion that I haven't left behind - the tights are from Grimoire (bought second hand, but brand new!).The flats are from New Look and are my favourites. I love this combo and think it would really suit a pastel maxi skirt, although that would hide the beauty of the tights~

I hope you enjoyed this post and please let me know in the comments if you'd like to see some high heel shoe looks!

Do you have a favourite pair of shoes? Any interesting hosiery?

Take care and catch you later,
Louise <3

Lust-haves for February!

Well, a month has passed since I did a wishlist type post, so I thought I'd do another (sorry if this is dull, the weather's awful so no photos can be taken outside so no outfit post, but I wanted to update!) Also sorry for not blogging since Wednesday (it was crap weather still *sigh*) Well, what have I been lusting after recently? Let's take a peek!

1. House of Holland Tights (they're so awesome and bright - very up my street!)
2. Purple Crushed Velvet Dr Martens (you know me, addicted to velvet)
3. ASOS Flatform Creepers (shiiiiny, how can I resist?)
4. One Teaspoon Skinny Jeans (I really love these, despite the price, maybe they'll just fall into my shopping basket and I'll accidentally buy them!)

Disclaimer: I'm not affiliated with any of these companies! All opinions are my own and totally honest (would I lie to you, guys?)

Do you have any of these items? What do you think of my choices?
What's on your wishlist this month?

Take care,
Louise <3
